• 560 g / 20 oz Neill's Self Raising Soda Bread Flour
  • 568 ml / 1pt buttermilk


  1. Heat oven to 200°C (400°F, Gas Mark 6), lightly grease a large baking tin.
  2. Mix the buttermilk into flour with a spoon and immediately turn into the tin.
  3. Place tin in centre of oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. If small tins are used shorter baking time is required.

The addition of 50 g / 2 oz sugar and 225-350 g / 8-12 oz mixed dried fruit, makes delicious fruit soda bread.
